Second Chance

We all make mistakes,

That’s unavoidable for heaven’s sake,

Mistakes help us to learn and grow,

Remain strong no matter what life may throw.

 

Second chances do come our way,

They present themselves to us every day,

Every moment of our life is a second chance,

Though it may not appear so at first glance.

 

Tomorrow when we awaken,

A new day will have broken,

The slate will be clean,

Yesterday’s remorse we should fling.

 

Second chances are there for the taking,

A new beginning awaits our making,

Never let our confidence disappear,

Allowing ourselves to be overcome by fear.

 

A second chance doesn’t mean anything,

Unless we learn from where we have been,

A second chance makes us want to work even harder,

We must notice where we are so as to push ourselves further.

 

Never confuse a single defeat with a final defeat,

Making a comeback is always an admirable feat,

Never give up against adverse circumstances and keep on fighting,

The sweet scent of victory will be ours for the taking.
