We were up at about 5am as our flight from Taipei to Kota Kinabalu was scheduled to depart at 9.50am. After our shower, we were in the hotel lobby at 6am. We thought we would not be able to have the hotel complimentary breakfast as it was supposed to start after 7am. Luckily for us, breakfast was ready.
I must compliment the hotel staff that morning as they were so helpful and courteous. It made our stay at the hotel more memorable.
Ah Mang Ker was ready to send us to the airport at about 7am. After spending the past few days with him, we had formed a close bond with him as he was a humorous and helpful guy. On our way to the airport, I watched the beautiful scenery rolling by us. At Taoyuan Airport, we bade him bye bye, promising to keep in touch with him through Facebook and WhatsApp.
We roamed around the airport as we had more than two hours on our hand before the departure of our plane. I particularly like the window displays at a shop in the airport.
At about 9.50am, our Air Asia flight left the airport for Kota Kinabalu. The flight was a smooth one and just after 1pm, we arrived in Kota Kinabalu.
We were in transit for about six hours but we did not go to the city as we had a lot of luggage. The hours seemed to pass so slowly. The rest of our group went to Kentucky for dinner but being not a fan of KFC, I opt for McDonald’s.
It was a relief when we finally departed from Kota Kinabalu for Miri at about 7pm. Home sweet home!
