Kingwood Boutique Hotel opened its door on September 23 after a very extensive renovation to upgrade the hotel into an upscale luxury boutique hotel.
Nestled in the midst of North Yu Seng commercial area, the style of the 49-room hotel seamlessly blends old-school charm with contemporary elegance. Surfaces are finished in natural wood and stone, set against an earthy colour palette that exudes serenity and relaxation.
I was able to book four rooms for my family and my sister-in-laws on its opening day. At the special rates for that day, it was really a steal as each room was given a free quality T-shirt, a powerbank and a complimentary breakfast for one.
Old photos of Miri adorn the walls of the rooms and the hotel corridors, creating a nostalgic feeling especially for Mirians.
The rooms are impressive with plush bedding, ample workspace, comfortable furniture, separate bathroom and toilet, free Wi-Fi and morning newspaper delivery.
The hotel lobby is furnished with large lounge chairs and you can order a fine selection of aromatic coffees and delectable desserts from the quaint lobby café.
The restaurant next to the lobby is tastefully designed with comfortable chairs. There is even a small stage where musicians provide relaxing entertainment in the evenings.
For the complimentary breakfast, you can choose a western breakfast or a nasi lemak. I had a Western breakfast and it was not bad. I had free fills of coffee and helped myself to free bread toasts and fruits. I admit that I love the coffee!
As a whole, it was a very pleasant one night stay for us!
