We went for breakfast at Hainan Cafe situated at the Miri Waterfront. There were quite a lot customers when we arrived at the cafe. That, to me, is a good sign.
Interesting photos depicting some old Hainan coffeeshop scenes and a photo of the Kuching Hainan Association building adorn the walls of the cafe.
I ordered a Hainan kopi-o while my son opted for an iced Hainan kopi. In addition to a set of their Suki chicken rice, we tried out an assortment of their bread: Kaya & butter toast, crunchy sugar & butter toast, egg toast, ham & egg toast and kaya & butter steamed bread.
We both like their coffee and the assortment of bread. Their Suki chicken rice did not quite appeal to my taste buds as I find the strong taste of ginger in their rice a bit of a turnoff.
Thank you for introducing us readers to so many new places in Miri.
