I dropped by HSBC this morning to do some personal banking via their ATM machine. Realising that it has been quite a while since we last visited the Ming Xin Coffee House located in the front portion of the building, my wife and I decided to have breakfast there.
During our previous visits, we have enjoyed their fried kueh tiaw and some of their dim sum dishes. And their black brew coffee has always been to my liking. So black coffee it was for me while my wife ordered her usual Milo-O.
We settled for a plate of fried kueh tiaw plus a serving each of sesame prawn rolls and carrot cake (Luo Bo Gao). There were quite a lot of customers so we had to wait quite a while before our drinks and dishes were served. I noted that a lot of the customers were Muslim as the outlet is halal.
The fried kueh kiaw when mingled with some chilli sauce lived up to our expectations. It was better than a lot of the fried kueh tiaw in town.
The carrot cake looked tempting. A bite into a piece mingled with some chilli sauce confirmed that the carrot cake tastes as good as it looks. We placed an order for a second helping.
The sesame prawn rolls tasted great with its slightly crispy crust. We ordered a second serving too!
Overall, we enjoyed the breakfast and we will definitely be back again.
