It hurts it really hurts
In my heart the pain lurks
Consuming me with the urge to hit back
An eye for an eye tic for tat.
A respectful act meant as a tribute
Ended up being rebuked
False allegations fly
Insinuating my kind act was a lie.
On second thoughts I won’t resort to hitting back
That would only bring me more flak
To me blood is thicker than water
I should treat this as a small matter.
My conscience is clear
I have nothing to fear
And God is my witness
I rest my case with tactfulness.
