Gossip is one mean fellow,
Spreading stuff that is mean and malicious,
He won’t hesitate to stoop so low,
For he finds rumours delicious.
Gossip needn’t be false to be evil,
From loose tongue it is born,
It’s like the radio of the devil,
It’s nature’s telephone.
What you don’t see with your eyes,
Don’t witness with your mouth,
When you spread malicious lies,
You come across as uncouth.
What is told in the ear of a man,
Is often heard 100 miles away,
Don’t ever try to fan,
The fire of gossip to hurry it on its way.
Trying to squash a gossip,
Is like trying to unring a bell,
Each tongue takes a sip,
Spreading it like cancer cells.
Who gossips to you will gossip about you,
He will say things behind your back,
Continuing until he gets his fill,
Leaving you to deal with the flak.
