Public breastfeeding has always been controversial. It is a topic that makes people sit up and voice their opinions. There has been many incidents of public outcry against public breastfeeding. But like it or not, the crux of the matter is that it’s just baby food!
A lot of mothers believe they have every right to feed their babies wherever they want and whenever they want. Whatever is your personal opinion about public breastfeeding, don’t be too patronising. Everyone is entitled to his or her preference.
Mother-of-two Whitney Huntwork was so fed-up with the negative comments and nasty looks that she would get while breastfeeding her baby in public that she took to Facebook to voice her stance on the issue.
Whitney posted a photo and a poem in the Breastfeeding Mama Talk group on Facebook . The totally unapologetic front-on photo shows her breastfeeding her son in a supermarket, standing proudly with her head held high.
Here’s the hilarious poem written by Whitney Huntwork:
Anytime. Anywhere. You can stare, I don’t care. I’ll feed my hungry child, here or there, if you don’t like my boob I still don’t care. A Restaurant? A store? It’s boob juice galore! A theater? A museum? But your more focused on trying to see them! Bottle or boob Its all just food. You still think I should cover? You should run and tell your mother. Pull out your phone and take a picture? But I’m the one who’s the problem? Don’t you wish we could all mind our business? That would sure solve them! Think I am disgusting? I could say the same? Think I am playing an attention seeking game? You are wrong because you see, really I am only worried about the comfort of my baby and me!
– Sincerely Whitney, the badass breastfeeder & her badass son fueled by purely boob juice.
Whitney’s post has resonated with tons of mums and has gone viral. People just love this breastfeeding mum!
