The Tallest Bougainvillea Plants In Miri

I drive past the Visitors’ Information Centre almost every day and it was only this morning that I noticed the tallest bougainvillea plants in Miri in the small park surrounding the centre.

I parked my car at the parking area in Tamu Muhibbah and made my way across the road to the Visitors’ Information Centre.

On closer look, I noticed that the bougainvillea plants are using a casuarina pine tree as support to reach such great heights. As I was photographing the plants, an old man in the park told me that the plants had been trimmed and that it was more beautiful before it was trimmed. I can imagine how beautiful it would be if the plants are in full bloom.

I made my way around the small park. Despite its small size, it is quite a scenic park with pathways and a nice shed. There are also a variety of flowers and palms and nice landscaping.

However one thing really put me off. I saw this man urinating on the walls of the visitor centre. He could have easily crossed the street to use the public toilet. To me, this is a form of vandalism.

Boo!

It is such a coincidence that I again saw a cat in the park. In my last few visits to some of the parks in Miri, I had encountered cats.

As I was returning to my car in Tamu Muhibbah, I saw a durian seller hanging a bundle of three durians beneath the signboard indicating that the car park is for handicapped people. I found it a bit amusing. It is as if the seller is saying that the durians are reserved for the handicapped.
