Xia Xue is right now trending at the top of Google Singapore. Out of curiousity, I decided to check out what the buzz is all about.
Now that I know what it is all about, I have this to say: “Bravo, Xiaxue!” If you want to know what this is all about, go to Xia Xue’s blog. And if you want more of Xiaxue, go to her Facebook account.
I visit Xia Xue’s blog only once in a blue moon and I won’t count myself as being one of her fans. But she is one of the most widely-read bloggers in Asia so that speaks volume about her popularity.
Looking at the downright degrading comments about Xia Xue, I can’t help wondering who are the people who posted these comments. But I just feel that the majority would probably fall into the following two categories:
1. Males who posted those comments are probably jealous that Xia Xue married a Caucasian instead of a Singaporean (the sour grapes).
2. Females who posted those comments are probably envious of Xia Xue’s celebrity status (the “How I wish I can be like Xia Xue!”)
All those who posted degrading comments about Xia Xue got a taste of their own medicine and ended up sending even more readers to Xia Xue’s blog.
In Malaysia, Prime Minister Najib’s battle cry during an election rally in Sibu a couple of years ago was “You help me….I help you.” But the cry fell on deaf ears as the ruling BN lost the Sibu constituency to the opposition.
Xia Xue’ s tactic was “You step on my toes….I am stepping on yours”. And she succeeded where Najib failed.
Sock it to them, Xia Xue!
