Wild Justice By Kelley Amstrong

Wild Justice is the third and final book  in Kelley Amstrong’s Nadia Stafford series. I have not read the first two books.  By reading this one as a standalone, I guess I miss so much of the background and buildup. This book has a very high Goodread ratings of 4.3.

Nadia Stafford is a former cop turned professional hitwoman. She owns a retreat lodge in the wilderness in Ontario but the lodge is barely breaking even. So she supplements her income by working as an occasional hitwoman.

Nadia has three main colleagues in her hitwoman business: her mentor Jack, Jack’s mentor Evelyn and Quinn, a federal agent with a hitman sideline. Quinn openly wants a permanent relationship with Nadia, with marriage on his mind.  But Nadia is not looking for a marriage and refuses to commit herself to such a relationship. We can sense the chemistry between Nadia and Jack, but neither of  them will admit to it.

Jack has given Nadia a lead on the man who raped and murdered her cousin twenty years ago. This is her chance to bring Amy’s killer to justice. But when she and Jack go to Drew Aldrich’s home, they find Drew dead from a gunshot wound. Nadia finds evidence of Drew Aldrich’s long life of crime. She discovers the truth about what happened to Amy and herself twenty years ago. Nadia is forced to take matters into her own hands, ultimately requiring her to confront her darkest secrets.
